The story of Nexus Technology Consulting and how a family's health journey inspired the creation of HealthTracker.
Our Company
Nexus Technology Consulting (NTC) was founded in 1992, initially providing tech support and general technology consulting services across New South Wales, Australia.
In 1996, the company relocated to Hobart, Tasmania, where we continue to operate today. Over the decades, we've helped countless businesses and individuals navigate the ever-evolving technology landscape.
Today, NTC combines our deep technology expertise with a passion for creating solutions that make a real difference in people's lives.
The Story Behind HealthTracker
The inspiration for HealthTracker came from a deeply personal place.
On her 9th birthday, one of our founder's four daughters was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD). What should have been a day of celebration became the beginning of a challenging medical journey that would change our family forever.
In 2011, at just 11 years old, she received her first kidney transplant — a precious gift of life from her grandmother, who selflessly became a live donor. The surgery was a success, but managing the aftermath was overwhelming.
The sheer volume of medical information that came with her care was staggering: multiple medications with complex schedules, frequent specialist appointments, regular blood tests and lab results, immunisation records, and an ever-growing care team of doctors and specialists. There was simply nothing available to help manage it all effectively in one place.
After years of contemplating a solution, development of the HealthTracker iOS app began in 2018. Built during spare moments between work and family life, the app was designed to be the tool we wished we had from the beginning.
Recent changes in circumstances have allowed for dedicated focus on bringing both the iOS app and web companion to completion. We're excited to share HealthTracker with families facing similar challenges.
