This policy applies to users worldwide and is designed to comply with applicable privacy laws in your jurisdiction, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), UK GDPR, California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), Canadian PIPEDA, Australian Privacy Principles, and other applicable data protection regulations.

How Do We Collect Information?
This policy (together with our Terms and Conditions) sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us. Please read the following carefully to understand our views and practices regarding your personal data and how we will treat it.
Information We May Collect From You
You may give us information about you by entering information through the Application. This includes information which you provide when you register to use our Application and when you report a problem with our Application.
The information you give us may include:
- Your name and email address
- Sensitive information about your health including symptoms, medications, measurements and variables you track
🔒 Data Security
For users who register for a HealthTracker account, your data is stored on Google Firebase (Firestore) cloud servers. When data is transmitted between your device and the server, it is encrypted using SSL security protocols. Account holders' email addresses are encrypted within the database and replaced with numeric IDs.
Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password that enables you to access our Application, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share a password with anyone.
Information Automatically Collected
With regard to each of your visits to our Application, we may automatically collect the following information where permitted by your device settings:
- Technical information: Device type, operating system, time zone settings, IP address, location (if enabled)
- Usage information: Health data you track, app response times, interactions, and features used
My Health Records Integration (Australia)
ℹ️ Planned Feature: My Health Records integration is not currently available but may be introduced in future versions of HealthTracker.
My Health Record is an Australian Government initiative which provides secure online summaries of individuals' health information. When implemented, this integration would allow HealthTracker to temporarily download the following from your My Health Record:
- List of medications
- Allergies
- Medicare benefit items
- Personal information
- Documents
✓ Privacy Guarantee: Your health information will never be collected or sent to any third parties by HealthTracker.
Analytics and Non-Identifying Information
HealthTracker may send non-identifying information to Google Analytics to improve the app. The following information is sent (NO personal health data):
Crash Reports
Crash reports help us quickly find and fix bugs that may occur while using the app.
Usage Information
Basic information about what parts of the app are used (e.g., commonly visited screens). This allows us to focus development on features that interest users.
Device Information
Phone model, operating system, broad non-specific location data, and language. This ensures the app works with a wide range of devices.
Apple HealthKit Integration
ℹ️ Planned Feature: Apple HealthKit integration is not currently available but may be introduced in future versions of HealthTracker.
Apple HealthKit is a framework that allows health and fitness apps to share data. When implemented, HealthTracker would be able to integrate with Apple's Health app, allowing users to send data to and from HealthTracker including measurements like blood pressure, steps, and walking distance.
Privacy Guarantee: Health App data brought into the Application would be saved in the HealthTracker user's account only. Health App data will NOT be shared with third parties or advertisers.
How Do We Use Your Information?
We use your information (email address and password) primarily to provide you with the product and services you have requested.
Other uses include:
- Review and enhance the quality of our services and products
- Administer our Application and for internal operations (troubleshooting, data analysis, testing, research)
- Improve our Application to ensure content is presented effectively
- Allow you to participate in interactive features when you choose
- Research and marketing of the HealthTracker service (using anonymised data only)
- Keep our Application safe and secure
- Inform you about similar products or services (you can unsubscribe at any time)
How Do We Protect Personal Information?
Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to and from the Application, despite SSL security protocols; any transmission is at your own risk.
Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to prevent unauthorised access.
Your Consent
By providing us with your personal data, including 'sensitive' personal data such as your health information, you consent to the collection and use of any information you provide in accordance with the purposes stated in this privacy policy.
You also consent to our transferring your information to countries or jurisdictions which may not provide the same level of data protection as Australia, if necessary for any of the above purposes.
If HealthTracker (Nexus Technology Consulting) or substantially all of its assets are acquired by a third party, personal data held about customers will be one of the transferred assets.
Your Privacy Rights (International)
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
🔍 Right of Access
Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you. You can export your data anytime from Settings → Data & Privacy.
✏️ Right to Rectification
Request correction of inaccurate personal data. You can update your information directly in the app.
🗑️ Right to Erasure (Right to be Forgotten)
Request deletion of your personal data. You can delete your account and all associated data from Settings.
📦 Right to Data Portability
Receive your data in a structured, commonly used format. Export your data as JSON or PDF from the app.
⛔ Right to Object
Object to processing of your personal data for marketing purposes. We don't use your health data for marketing.
🚫 Right to Restrict Processing
Request limitation of processing in certain circumstances. Contact us to exercise this right.
🇺🇸 Notice to US Residents
HealthTracker is a personal health management app and is not a covered entity under HIPAA. HIPAA applies to healthcare providers, health plans, and healthcare clearinghouses—not personal health tracking applications. California residents have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what personal information is collected and the right to opt-out of the sale of personal information (note: we do not sell your data).
Changes to This Policy
We reserve the right to amend this privacy statement at any time. If we do, we will post notice of the change on our website or through digital communication to registered users via email.
